Dawn Richberg was born in Philadelphia, PA. and, as an Army brat, lived on a number of military bases around the United States. She holds a master's degree from the University of Michigan and currently teaches English and Creative Writing at Skyline High School in Ann Arbor, MI where she lives with her partner Vanessa and their 3 children.

Richberg's book is Because I Must: Musings on Politics, Parenting and Passion(s), it "includes poems and stories about being Black and lesbian in a crazy republic, and a mother trying to survive the teen years with both parent and child intact." 

She will also have as a guest fellow poet Sat Paul Goyal.  His book of poetry is Day After Christmas: Reflections on Tsunami Disaster and Survival.
